My first product pick is after the jump!

Brown, Ingredient, Food storage containers, Beige, Tan, Khaki, Lid, Metal, Nut butter, Preserved food,

Product Pick: Better'n Peanut Butter (also sold as Peanut Wonder)

(2 tbsp: 100 calories, 2.5 g fat, 190 mg sodium, 13 g carbs, 0 g fiber, 2 g sugars, 4 g protein)

HG ALERT! Calling all peanut butter fans who fear the high fat and calorie counts that come with the stuff (um, this means EVERYONE on the planet, no?). Better'n Peanut Butter is a sweet, spreadable, nutty treat that has 45% fewer calories and 85% less fat than regular peanut butter. Yep, GUILT-FREE PEANUT BUTTER! And if you've ever wondered what the deal is with natural, reduced-fat, and low-carb peanut butters, here's the scoop. Reduced-fat PBs generally contain 12 grams of fat per serving and around the same number of calories as the regular stuff. Natural, organic, and alternative nut butters (like almond butter) have similar stats to standard PB—sometimes even more. And low-carb PBs, while surely valuable to serious low-carbers, offer no calorie or fat bargains. SO—if it's a low-calorie, lowfat peanut butter swap you seek, look no further! Now here's some need-to-know info about this stuff.

*In addition to the original variety, there's also a low-sodium one with just 95 mg per serving. And we've found that one of our fave shopping markets, Trader Joe's, typically stocks that low-salt stuff.

*This peanut butter spread is a bit sweeter than regular peanut butter. While this means that a straight PB&J sandwich made with this stuff may taste more like dessert than lunch (not necessarily a bad thing!), it's got its advantages as well. It's a little too sweet to actually down an entire jar in one sitting, which we could probably do with regular PB! And it makes a perfect ingredient in peanut-buttery recipes; it blends, mixes, and melts incredibly well.

*Two truly decadent flavors are set to roll out soon (they may even be here by the time you read this): Cinnamon Chocolate & Honey Roast. The nutty folks behind this food find expect those to have the same nutritionals as the original. We can't wait to taste 'em and tell all!

Find Better'n Peanut Butter and Peanut Wonder at Trader Joe's and other select retailers, or visit betternpeanutbutter.com or peanutwonder.com for more info and to purchase online. In the meantime, post your reviews of the stuff here!—Lisa "Hungry Girl" Lillien
